U.S. Air Force Renews AAAHC Contract as Ambulatory Health Care Accreditor Worldwide
Contract Effective for Up to Four years

The United States Air Force has renewed the contract of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) as the accrediting organization for its ambulatory health care facilities worldwide. The Air Force operates about 75 ambulatory treatment facilities.
“We are pleased by the confidence the Air Force has placed in the Accreditation Association to help it provide patients with high quality ambulatory treatment,” said John Burke, PhD, executive vice president and CEO, AAAHC. “As the largest and most established accrediting body for ambulatory health care organizations, we welcome this opportunity to continue our work with the Air Force in implementing an accreditation plan that assures it is meeting or exceeding national standards for quality outpatient health care.”
The Air Force ambulatory medical treatment facilities are located primarily in the lower 48 U.S. states, Alaska, Hawaii, Korea, Japan, Germany, England, and the Azores.
The AAAHC contract with USAF has been effective since 2006. The latest renewal was awarded for one year, with options to renew for three additional years.
The contract follows a similar partnership that the AAAHC has maintained with the U.S. Coast Guard since 2004.
