Accreditation News
and Resources

Now that you have successfully completed the accreditation process, it's time to share the good news with others! Publicizing your organization's AAAHC accreditation is a great way to boost community awareness of your services, and demonstrate your commitment to high quality care for your patients. The following are some ways to help others understand your achievement and its meaning:

Activity 1 - Notify the Press
Prepare a professional news release on your organization's letterhead to announce your accreditation to local newspapers, radio and television stations. Use the guidelines on preparing a professional news release and the sample news release to announce that your organization has achieved AAAHC accreditation. Consider adding personalized quotes from your medical and administrative staff, and include information about your organization's history within the community.

Activity 2 - Display your Accreditation Certificate
Hold an official ceremony to celebrate the "unveiling" of your framed accreditation certificate. Invite patients, community and business leaders, and colleagues to attend. Take time to share the meaning of the certificate with attendees through presentations by key staff and medical providers. Combine the event with other programs such as a tour of your facility, health related workshops, screenings, or other awareness programs.

Activity 3 - Use Educational Literature
The Accreditation Association has created specialized literature to assist you in educating your patients and community about the value of accreditation. The Questions and Answers about the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care brochure (also available in Spanish) provides information about the Accreditation Association's background, mission and the importance of accreditation. For a more personalized appearance, the Earning Your Trust Through Quality table tents can be customized to feature your organization's name on the cover. These cards summarize your commitment to the AAAHC accreditation process and its significance to your patients. Both of these pieces can be enclosed with mailings, billing statements, or informational packets. They can also be placed in your reception areas, and distributed at health fairs or other public gatherings in which your organization participates.

Activity 4 - Use the Accreditation Association Logo
As an accredited organization, you are entitled to use the Accreditation Association logo on your marketing materials. The logo is available in an electronic format, and is included in this packet. If you have additional questions regarding the use of this logo, please contact the AAAHC Marketing and Communications Coordinator at 847.853.6060

Activity 5 - Notify your Colleagues
Accreditation is a process that is important to your organization. By communicating your dedication to quality health care, you will serve as a leader to those around you who are just beginning to explore the benefits of accreditation through AAAHC. Share the news of your accomplishment with your friends and colleagues by writing a personalized letter. A sample letter is provided in this packet and is also available for download. This sample announcement letter can be modified as needed.
