The AAAHC defines an Office-Based Surgery Center as an organization that has no more than four physicians/dentists and no more than two operating/procedure rooms.

Office-based surgery centers with more than four physicians/dentists and/or more than two operating/procedure rooms, or with more than one office location, may still apply for accreditation. The applicable accreditation standards do not change based on organization size.
